Seattle — the first long stretch

Four months in Seattle. The longest I’d stayed anywhere alone up to that point.

What stuck

• The 6am Capitol Hill walks before anyone else was up.
• A coffee shop on Pine that became the office I never had.
• The first real sense that location independence wasn’t a hypothesis anymore.

What I’d do differently

• Spend more time on the islands.
• Find the music scene earlier — I only found it the week before I left.
